I loved the peaceful mornings, the fresh mountain air, the simple life, and the feeling of being home.Then everything changed.My grandmother was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer, and the life we knew fell apart. There was no one else to support her, no one else she could depend on. So I left everything behind and moved to Manila not because I wanted to, but because I loved her more than my own dreams.I had just graduated from Senior High School, full of excitement to continue to college. I dreamed of earning a degree, building a better future, and making my grandmother proud.But life had different plans.Instead of becoming a college student, I became the breadwinner.
I had to set aside my education so I could work and support the person who had sacrificed everything for me. It broke my heart, but sometimes love means choosing responsibility over your own dreams.Even now, I still hope that one day I’ll be able to return to college and continue the journey I had to leave behind. That dream is still alive inside me.I’m also working hard to save for another dream not a luxurious life, not expensive things, but something simple and meaningful.I dream of buying a small piece of land in my province and opening a small neighborhood store.
